I can’t quite believe it:

Trade is official now.Sabres acquire picks 4 and 45 in the draft and defenseman Louis Crevier from Chicago for Bo Byram and Jordan Greenway

Byram was great down the stretch and in the playoffs, but I often felt almost anybody would’ve been better than Greenway. To flip both of them for the *4th* overall pick AND another pick AND a player is wild to me.

I don’t know much about Crevier, but he’s 25, 6’8″, and skates better than similarly enormous Logan Stanley. Helpfully, the Blackhawks have highlights for Crevier from 2025-2026:

Looking at that video, some of the Hawks fan comments (“there are some defensive highlights they didn’t put in”), and his time on ice stats, I like the player. Crevier started this year barely playing and was regularly at 20 minutes a night by April. He could be a throw-in that ends up as a real contributor. Unless Jarmo’s not done and more trades go down, lol. Isn’t this fun?
